Transformation of the Believer Hidden in the Shadows July 25, 2010 Some people say “Dreams never come true.” But, I say as a believer for Christ, they do. For many years before Christ, I was a believer hidden in the shadows. I wouldn’t admit it to myself but I dreamed of a love that was true from someone who would never leave me or forsake me. I searched high and low for a place to belong. Then one day In 2002 I came to college to begin the first steps of my dreams. I was feeling very depressed and very suicidal at the time. God put in my path a person, who was to be my mentor and help me with assignments my freshman year, her name was Carla. Carla in 2002 helped to lead me to Christ and that relationship with him helped to transform my life in ways I never will forget. God helped to pull me out of depression and helped to get rid of my thoughts of Suicide. Now Dreams can change and transform over time. When we are kids some of us dream of being firefighters, pilots, etc. Sometimes those dreams transform into reality others don’t come to pass. But, God allows us the gift throughout life to dream of our future and who we wish to come. Sometimes, God’s transformations show throughout our lives. For me, I have always wanted to work with children in some shape or form. I have a passion with spending time with children and teaching them. Through college God has blessed with me with Graduation from college with a associates degree in Early childhood Development and a Bachelor Degree in Outdoor Recreation with a minor in art. There are so many things that can happen with these degrees that I look forward to in the future. God has shown me his plan for my life. God plans to have me work in a daycare for a year or more to help lesson my student loans and get experience in my field that I desperately need. Also, after some time when he feels I am ready he plans for me to move into a actual school system and I will stay there until one day, I can have my own daycare. Throughout his plan I will transform and grow and life will continue to change for me and the kids I work with. Some people are afraid of change and transforming into the new experience. I say don’t be afraid allow God to keep the wheel of your life and let him drive you where you need to be. He knows his plan for you, he knows where he wants you to go and do, you might not know but he does. Trust in him and in that. I have come a long way since 2002 and have transformed my trust in him to allowing him to guide me and transform me in ways I might not understand now but will later on. God says in Romans 12: 2, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good, and acceptable and perfect.” Allow God to renew your mind on how you think about change and the way he is transforming you. See his transformation as a gift and a blessing, not as something scary and something you don’t want to do. I always want to grow and learn in everything I do. I want God to step me up in the right direction towards the path he wants me to take. I also want this for the world and those in it. God also says in 2 Corinthians 3:18, “And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another, for this comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” God wants you to know that even if you have a fear of change you can’t stop it, because God will mold you into his image and make you like him. God loves each of us in ways we sometimes don’t understand or feel we deserve. For years while I lived in the shadows, I felt that I didn’t deserve God’s love and deserve to be like someone as great as He. But, God has transformed my mind and my heart into realizing that no matter what we do in life we deserve his love and we ALL need it. Even though, sometimes we go through a denial stage as Non-Christians. But, once we get passed that we become the believer who stepped out of the shadows and from hiding from God, and into the light and with God. Allow yourself to Dream, and allow yourself to step out and stop being the believer hidden in the shadows like I was. Allow God to transform you in ways you can’t imagine to be like them. DO NOT BE AFRAID!! If you are afraid pray that God transform you from that fear of change and pray that he changes you and continues to chain you into his image. God loves you, no matter what happens. Also remember that. He also doesn’t give you more then you can handle at a time. As God transforms you out of the believer hidden in the shadows you will go out and do great things. I pray for the great things God is going to do through this message to you through me. May his word and my message he is speaking through me, transform you in many ways. Till the next time, God has a word for you through me, May God be with you and you with him always. Amen. When you are true to yourself, you can be true to others...
